Sector 5 Hits the Red Zone – Finally!
Friends and Elves – Sector 5 is now finally in the Red Zone.
What does that mean?
Well, nothing for the moment. It’s the middle of the night for some of you and we want you to get your sleep. Santa doesn’t actually take off for a few more hours and he’s got a whole world to get through before he gets to us.
So, for now, please get some rest. I do expect some requests coming from Flight Command during the night but you can wait until morning to work on them.
Based on what is happening in other sectors, it appears the busiest times for trackers are between about 10am and 4pm local time.
We’ll see.
Happy slumber!
Slow Down, Sector 5
Relax, Sector 5. I’m seeing a lot of unnecessary reports from you. We’re not even in the Red Zone.
Let’s chill. Our turn will come.
By sending in unnecessary reports right now you take up the time of elves in Flight Command who are concentrating on sectors where they ARE in the Red Zone. We still hours and hours away from Santa’s launch.
Get some eggnog, take a nap, feed the cat. Whatevs. Just chill and wait for word from me, okay?
Sector 5 Trackers Advised to Sleep
I know there are some of you Sector 5 trackers out there that are awake – I’m seeing weird reports, lots of check-ins still, and some messages. I can see some of you waited up to hear the start of the Tracking Santa Radio Show.
That’s fine, but we’ve got a long road a head of us for the next 48 hours and you guys need rest. Don’t spoil your Christmas Eve by being up too much on December 23rd!
Get some sleep, Trackers!
Let’s See Your Best Elf
Let’s see your best elf!
Attention all Elves: at the request of Santa himself, please take a selfie (if your parents are ok with it) in front of your tree, in your elf uniform (if you have one) or in your home tracking center and upload it as a photo submission report. Santa wants to see your smiling elf faces!
Again, this is for all elves in all sectors. Please send ASAP!!!
We will gather them and share them in a post sometime tomorrow on December 23rd both here and at SantaUpdate.com.
If you have issues using the report uploader for your email you can email it to st@elf.fyi.
Thanks!
Elf Check-In Begins in 24 Hours
Fellow Elves! We will begin the worldwide check-in process for working elves in 24 hours. We start with Sector 1 and move to Sector 5.
Please keep an eye on your Sector’s page. It should also post to the Elf Wall by Sector, just as any Elf Supervisor direction normally does.
Things are starting to pick up. It’s a good idea to be paying attention and checking the Sector page a few times each day, at least.
The check in process is NOT required. It’s just nice to do because it tells Flight Command you are on the job.
We are dealing with massive numbers of new elves. There are some problems because basic instructions are not being followed. Invalid email addresses are being used for tracker registration. Many new elves are not looking at the training material. Some just won’t commit.
We expected this, especially given the numbers we’re dealing with each day.
That is why the check in process is so important. It tells us you’re there, working, paying attention and following direction.
In a sector that has millions – like Sector 5 – only a certain percentage of those elves are going to do things that we need. We know this, we expect it. By checking in, we are better able to trust the information that is being submitted.
We have talked to the Elf Supervisors and North Pole Flight Command to ensure that only the most necessary information is asked for. We don’t want to over burden our hard working tracker elves with too many things to do.
Santa as well has directed that we keep things concise, specific and timely.
We will work to do so.
Have fun this week!
Updated Weather Report Requested
Trackers of Sector 5 – Flight Command has asked we provide them with an updated weather report. They are specifically targeting the United States and Canada west of the Rockies as an area of need for information.
This is just routine and you may be asked again for this report several times both before and after Santa’s launch.
Thanks, Elves!
Tracker Elf Conference Agenda
The Tracker Elf Conference is scheduled for this Saturday at 10am EST and it runs for two hours.
During these two hours we will hear/see presentations from the following Santa tracking experts:
- Elf Frank Myrrh (North Pole Radio News anchor) – The Tracking Santa Show on Kringle Radio
- Elf Roger Star (International Director of Santa Trackers) – How You Help Santa on Christmas Eve
- Elf Buck Sanchez (Flight Director, North Pole Sleigh Port) – What Really Happens on Christmas Eve
- Elf Hugo Slavia (North Pole Post Master) – How Messages Flow at the North Pole on Christmas Eve
- Elf Max (Tracker Elf Trainer) – Timeline of Tracker Activity
- Santa (The Big Guy) – My Message to Tracker Elves
As you can see, there are a lot of presentations to make. There will be a brief period after each presentation for questions. It would be helpful, however, if you could submit any questions you have ahead of time so that maybe answers can be put into the presentations (this saves time for everyone). You can submit them below:
[sform]1[/sform]Photo Request for Sector 5
Attention elves of Sector 5! We have a request from Flight Command to test the photo submission function here on SantaTrackers.net
Please go to the Photo Submission Report page and upload an image of ONE of the following things:
- Your selfie
- Your Christmas Tree
- You Tracking Center
This fun little assignment is intended to test our photo upload functions, as there have been some tweaks to it recently. We might or might not share some of these images if you approve.
Please do this before Friday, December 17th, 2021 at midnight local time.
Thank you!
Elf Questions and Answers – New Tracker Podcast

Elf questions and answers are the topic of a new Santa Trackers Podcast just posted by Elf Frank Myrrh.
There are many new tracker elves joining our ranks and they have questions. In this new episode we take a stab at answering a few of those questions.
This biggest question in this episode come from Elf Frankie in England: What do I do if I see Santa in my house?
Frank and Crash do not necessarily agree with how to best answer this question. Crash thinks Frankie should say something and Frank — well, Frank just can’t handle it.
This episode also features a special message from Elf Crusader about the care and feeding of Reindeer.
Frank and Crash also discuss how to help young, talent elves develop in their elf careers.
