Tracker Elves in New Zealand Sign Up in Droves

We have great news coming out of New Zealand here in Sector 1: we have hit new record highs in the number of new elves signing on.

Sector 1 is a very large sector geographically but it ranks fourth out of the five sectors in the total number of elves. This is likely because we have many very small island nations among our numbers. There are a great many believers in our sector just not as many tracker elves. So to see New Zealand doing so well is very exciting.

In Sector 1 we ended October with just short of 9.5 million total elves – the vast majority of them freelance elves. We need about 10 million for elves before Santa launches.

Guys – now is the time to really start recruiting. Share images like this one below on your Tik Tok, Twitter, or Instagram (or SnapChat, anyone use that?):

Track Santa for Santa

We need all hands on deck if we are to make the goal.

Congrats to New Zealand for leading the way!

Stuff to Understand About the Website

My Fellow Elves,

We are getting huge numbers of new elf sign-ups, which is great, but it is driving a lot of questions to us behind the scenes. I thought it would be helpful to just share a few things with you about the website and how it all works.

Report a User

This is a new feature that is intended to help with naughty elves who post things that are inappropriate or engage in behavior that is unbecoming an elf. We work hard to avoid such stuff but some just misbehave anyway. There is a little button that will appear when you mouse over the profile of any elf. It looks like this:

Report User Button

When you click on that button it alerts the elves running the website of the problem and they should jump to take care of it right away.

Be very careful how you use this button. Elf Moe is the one who gets the message and Moe isn’t an elf to be messed with. He makes the final decisions of who stays and who goes. This button is ONLY to report something inappropriate. Do not use it to report a user who hasn’t done anything wrong – Moe could ban you!

The Difference Between Elf Chat and the Elf Wall

Some new users are wandering into Elf Chat expecting elves of all types to be there all the time. The purpose of Elf Chat is more for scheduled events than it is for everyday conversation. You are welcome to use Elf Chat at any time but most of the time no one is there. Take a look at the Elf Calendar to see when events are scheduled for Elf Chat.

The rest of the time you will want to post on the Elf Wall. That’s where most elves go to share information and to meet each other.

Elf Jobs

Many new elves expect to apply and get some of the elf jobs posted. Not much hiring for these positions are open any more, however. All the elves that have been here year round have been assigned to them. We still are working to update the Elf Map to show all the new city captains, state representatives and country ambassadors. As we catch up with that you will see the dozens and dozens of elf jobs that have been filled.

Our advice to new elves joining now is to work as a tracker elf through Christmas and then stick around to apply for new elf jobs that come up in the New Year.

Groups

Likewise we are done forming new groups for the year. We have some groups that were formed over the summer that are not being managed or used. We will keep them up for now but after Christmas we may close them if they are not active. If you are interested in taking over an existing group that nobody is running any more you can contact me and we’ll discuss it.

North Pole Complaint Department

Be VERY careful how you use this group and what you might say. Elf Moe is a little grumpy and he has no patience for complainers, honestly. If you feel the need to complain, please do so carefully.

What to Know About Operation Airlift

Operation Airlift is a detail of Santa’s flight that many in the outside world do not know about and that some new tracker elves do not understand. The purpose of this post is to bring you up to speed on it so that when it happens on Christmas Eve you know what is going on.

Operation Airlift is a support effort for Santa. Thousands of sleighs and thousands of reindeer are deployed before Santa even launches to help with various tasks that support Santa’s flight.

It is not difficult to see why such an operation is necessary. Santa delivers to billions of believers. Not all of their stuff is going to fit in his sack or on his sleigh. Santa needs help getting that stuff to where it goes.

That is where Operation Airlift comes into play.

Santa makes use of sleighs, snowmobiles, sleds powered by dogs, planes, trains, trucks, large ships, and other types of vehicles on Christmas Eve to move presents, supplies, elves and reindeer around to help as Santa delivers.

You will hear of Operation Airlift on the radio from North Pole Radio News. It is all part of the Santa effort.

While you as a tracker elf may not benefit from all this activity you WILL be working to support those sleighs too. After all, the same information you provide for Santa will be used to support Operation Airlift as well.

Let’s say, for example, that you send in a weather report from your area. That information is compiled with other weather reports to give the pilots of those sleighs used in Operation Airlift the information they need to fly safely in completing their mission.

And just what is their mission?

Their mission is to get the right stuff to Santa at the right time. If you live in England and support sleighs brings Santa stuff needed in Ethiopia, no one is going to have a Merry Christmas – either in England or Ethiopia.

Operation Airlift keeps things organized and flowing to Santa so that he gets things to the right people on time.

You will need to listen carefully to the news as you track Santa. You will not want to confuse the information about Operation Airlift with Santa’s actual flight. This is part of the reason why there is a countdown to Santa’s launch on every official North Pole website and why you are provided with a map of Santa’s position.

Elf Crusader Interviews Elf Crash

Guys – you have GOT to hear this new podcast just put out by Elf Crusader. He interviews Elf Crash Murphy and they really cover a lot of ground.

Elf Crusader really came prepared with questions for Crash. And he asks questions of a very personal nature, not only for Crash but also for himself. It is likely one of the most interesting podcasts I have ever heard in relation to being an elf and what it is all about.

I don’t want to give too much away. But like me just throw in here that I was thrilled that Crash actually mentioned me – because no one ever mentions me. But, there’s a lot more exciting stuff on this episode.

You can listen to it at this link.

I’m also very curious to know what you think about this conversation. Please put your comments and questions below.

Thanks!

50 Days Until Launch

There are now just 50 days until launch of Santa’s sleigh and you’re going to start seeing some different stuff.

Elf Supervisors, aside from maybe talking about the recruiting numbers, will be engaging in activities designed to help train and to prepare for Santa’s ride. Elf Pinky, for example, is holding a chat this weekend for Sector 5.

Likewise, I will be holding a chat the following day (Sunday) about Christmas Eve Reports.

There may be different things coming in each Sector. Definitely a time to be paying attention.

The fun is about to start.

North Pole Flight Command today has some new information about the test flights.

And SantaUpdate.com has news about Santa’s Workshop.

New Elf Chat About Christmas Eve Reports

Christmas Eve Reports will be the topic of discussion during a newly scheduled Elf Chat for all trackers on November 7th at 8pm EST in Elf Chat at SantaTrackers.net.

Elf Max, a senior Tracker Elf Trainer — that’s me! — will host the chat.

I have gathered information from all the Elf Supervisors, who will be monitoring the chat event, that they want presented. We will discuss what the expected reports are, where to find them and how to fill them out and send them in.

If time allows, we might also talk about secondary reports that may or may not be requested by North Pole Flight Command on Christmas Eve.

The work of tracker elves is to give current information that might be useful to Santa as he makes his way around the world. It is believed that the reports coming from 200 million tracker elves worldwide can really help Santa speed things up but to do it in a way that is actually safer. Tracker elves are Santa’s eyes on the ground. He needs to hear current conditions where tracker elves live.

We would also note that this chat will be a great time to ask any tracker questions you might have. See you there!

Christmas Eve Reports

Sector 5 Chat Scheduled

Elf Pinky has added a special chat to the calendar for Sector 5 elves on November 6th at 8pm EST in Elf Chat on SantaTrackers.net.

I talked to Elf Pinky by phone this morning.

She told me she wants to see how many elves can show up for this chat. She is not sure if it is still too early to hold such an event.

But at the same time she is a little worried that TOO MANY elves might show up. Sector 5, as you know, has more elves than any other sector and it appears already they will out recruit all other sectors this year.

Pinky want to answer questions. She also wants to give some direction that she thinks will be unique to Sector 5 in tracking Santa. And even though it is a little early she believes we can start mapping out the anticipated schedule. She hope to archive the chat so that more elves can access it later.

Also, if elves from other sectors want to join in, that would be fine. She is also extending invites to some key North Pole elves – Crash Murphy, Buck Sanchez, Frank Myrrh, just to name a few — hoping they might attend to help answer questions.

If you cannot attend, which is understandable because this is a Saturday night after all, please put any of your questions in the comments below or send them to me privately.

Country Ambassadors Named

The Department of Elf Resources is pleased to announce the promotion of the following elves to the position of Country Ambassador.

In this position Country Ambassadors are representatives of the North Pole to the assigned country. In this position, they communicate the ideas, attitudes and wishes of a country to the North Pole. It is a very important position. It may not require a ton of work (most countries are eager to please Santa). But if an issue comes up it is good to know that both the North Pole and the country have someone to turn to.

These are the new Country Ambassadors for Christmas 2021. There may be an additional list published in the coming weeks:

Elf Lil Cream – United States
Elf Fiona – Canada
Elf Valerio – Columbia
Elf Twinkle Star – Brazil
Elf Jasper – Argentina
Elf Hollis – South Africa
Elf Dingle – Kenya
Elf Agent Q – Saudi Arabia
Elf Featherhead – Italy
Elf Jingles Bot – France
Elf Tannenbaum – Germany
Elf Robert – England
Elf Kiley – Ireland
Elf Kilby – Iceland
Elf Dangerous – Norway
Elf Tinselberry – India
Elf Randi Candy – Australia
Elf Tua — Tonga

More Elf Promotions Announced with State Representatives

We are pleased to announce new State and Province Representatives for Christmas 2021. According to the job description, this is what a State/Province Representative does:

A state representative works for the elves AND BELIEVERS of Santa in any given state or province. They are charged with being the voice of the people TO THE NORTH POLE. In other words, if there are any concerns about anything that people of the state want to have brought to the attention of Santa or the North Pole it flows through these representatives.

This is a very serious job.

As a state or province representative you will be charged with teaching people of your area of responsibility how to become elves, where they can get more news and information and Santa and the North Pole and you will relay to those in your area any information Santa and the North Pole feels is of urgent conveyance to the people.

It will take us some time to update the Elf Map but here are the State/Province Representative elf promotions we have completed so far:

Official Elf Count Update

We are pleased to announce that growth in tracker elf registrations grew last month by a global rate of 11.8% and that we now have enrolled nearly 78 million elves worldwide. Here is how each sector grew in September:

Sector 1 – +5.6%
Sector 2 – +4.6%
Sector 3 – +3.1%
Sector 4 – +3.7%
Sector 5 – +24.1%

While each sector shows improvement over the previous month Sector 5 continues to show the most explosive growth. We expect that trend to continue.

While the growth has been amazing we do note that in order to meet the 200 million tracker elf goal that Santa set for this year we need to recruit better than 122 million MORE tracker elves in the weeks ahead. The next four weeks are especially crucial to the overall season.

Please work to bring those you know on board as tracker elves tracking Santa for Santa this year.

Thanks!

All About Santa’s Reindeer

We had a chance to meet with Elf Victor, head elf of reindeer operations, in Elf Chat this week and this is how the conversation went:

Elf MaxThanks for joining us. Today we have a very special guest, Elf Victor, long time head elf of Reindeer Operations at the North Pole
Elf VictorThank you for having me.
Elf MaxVictor, before we get into the stuff we have planned, we are getting lots of questions about Donner
Elf VictorI know, I know
Elf MaxWell….what do you know? When will he be back to the North Pole?
Elf VictorDonner’s okay. He’ll be here in plenty of time. There is no need to worry.
Elf MaxWell, I think people want to know why he’s not there when all the other reindeer are.
Elf VictorTo be honest with you, that’s something Santa knows more about than me. I have my hands full with all the others.
Elf MaxDo you think we shouldn’t have said that Donner wasn’t there?
Elf VictorNo, I think Santa’s policy about being honest in all things is always best.
Elf MaxBut does hiding details make it honest?
Elf VictorNobody is hiding details. I just told you I don’t have details other than Santa said not to worry about it.
Elf MaxSo does that mean only Santa knows what is going on?
Elf VictorYes, as far as I know. I certainly don’t know. I love Donner, he and I have worked together for hundreds of years. If Santa says there are no worries, then there are no worries. I’m guessing Donner has a family thing or something going on and that it is really not a story.
Elf MaxOkay. The crush of these questions is tremendous.
Elf VictorYes, I get it. Not a day goes by without the questions.
Elf MaxOk, hopefully we will know something soon.
Elf VictorHopefully.
Elf MaxWithout Donner there at the North Pole has there been irregularities to the reindeer routine?
Elf VictorNo, not at all because the routine doesn’t begin until we’re into the post-Thanksgiving period. It’s about a 30-day training routine that includes the reindeer game. Before then we are doing things like long conditioning
Elf MaxWhat’s long conditioning?
Elf VictorThat is where we look at injuries or stress that happened to the reindeer from last season or even beyond. Some of these reindeer, like Donner, are getting a little old, even for reindeer
Elf MaxHow long can reindeer live?
Elf VictorWell, these are Santa’s reindeer we’re talking about so there is not much that is normal about them
Elf MaxOk, now we’re getting somewhere. How are Santa’s reindeer different than regular reindeer?
Elf VictorWell, how is Santa different from a regular person?
Elf MaxI don’t know how to answer that.
Elf VictorAnd I don’t know how to exactly explain how Santa’s reindeer are different. But they are. That’s all I know.
Elf MaxSanta’s says you are the foremost expert on reindeer in all the world.
Elf VictorWell Santa is very kind. That’s what the sort of stuff kind men say.
Elf MaxWell, if you can’t explain how Santa’s reindeer are different then who can?
Elf VictorIsn’t it enough to just say they are Santa’s reindeer and leave it at that?
Elf MaxYou’re comfortable with that? Aren’t you the least bit curious?
Elf VictorOf course, I am. But not like when I was a much younger elf. I’m old now, even for an elf. But I’ve come to realize that we don’t need to explain every bit of mystery and magic about what goes into Santa.
Elf MaxA lot of people won’t accept that.
Elf VictorWell, I know. That’s too bad. Those who reject the magic of Santa deny themselves the real flavor of life.
Elf MaxWhat do you mean?
Elf VictorI mean that we don’t leave this world understanding everything. I mean, why is every snow flake unique? That’s a good question but is my life going to change if I can wrap my head around that simple little mystery?
Elf MaxSo you’re saying it is okay that we don’t know the secret to Santa’s reindeer?
Elf VictorYes, I’m saying its okay.
Elf MaxBut I want to know.
Elf VictorOf course you want to know. But here’s the problem. You already do know. Santa comes. Every year. You can’t deny that can you?
Elf MaxOf course not. I believe.
Elf VictorOk, since you know that then you know that Santa has reindeer. Very special reindeer that can fly. They are part of how he does what Santa does. We cannot deny that, can we?
Elf MaxNo sir.
Elf VictorOk. So you know it’s true and that it happens. Who cares if you don’t know every detail like how reindeer fly or getting around the world in one night?
Elf MaxOk, I can accept that.
Elf VictorThat’s the deal right there: acceptance. Like the Donner thing. If Santa says he’s ok, well, then I’m  accepting of that and I will just wait for Donner to show up and when he does we’ll get down to work.
Elf MaxWell, what if Donner doesn’t show up until Christmas Eve?
Elf VictorThen we’ll figure it out.
Elf MaxSimple as that?
Elf VictorSimple as that. Things always work out. Even when things go wrong, things work out.
Elf MaxDid Santa tell you that?
Elf VictorNo, just years of experience. But I can tell you Santa thinks much the same way.
Elf MaxHow long have you and Santa known each other?
Elf VictorOh golly, most my life.
Elf MaxWere you always an expert on reindeer?
Elf VictorNo, but I’ve pretty much always worked with reindeer as an elf. From the very beginning.
Elf MaxAre the reindeer as old as you?
Elf VictorOh, they are much older. I don’t know the whole story but I know some of it.
Elf MaxCan you share all you know?
Elf VictorNope. That’s the honest truth. There’s some details I just cannot tell you. There are also details I just don’t know. But I will tell you all I can about how reindeer work and what tracker elves need to know about them in order to do their job.
Elf MaxOk, fair enough. I appreciate that. Do tracker elves really need to worry about the reindeer?
Elf VictorNot much and not usually. However, a tracker elf is an elf. So they need to be ready to contribute in any way possible.
Elf MaxWhat does that mean?
Elf VictorWell, many years before you joined us Santa had a little emergency in Latvia. He needed some help and he needed an elf. The closest elf to him just happened to a tracker elf in Latvia.
Elf VictorSo Santa asked him up on the sleigh to help him lift some stuff. Santa, you see, suffered a fall. Broke a rib and sprained an ankle. He needed another pair of hands. There just happened to be a tracker elf nearby.
Elf MaxNo way!
Elf VictorYes, it does not happen a lot but it can happen.
Elf MaxHow could a tracker elf possibly help with reindeer? I would be scared of doing something wrong.
Elf VictorMost of the time it’s just a matter of being prepared with food and water. A lot of people think of Santa and leave him cookies and milk. But they forget all the reindeer. We expect our trackers to think of the reindeer.
Elf MaxSo that’s why we get so much instruction about what reindeer can eat and drink?
Elf VictorYes, that’s right. It is an elf’s duty to see that the reindeer always have the right kind of things to eat and drink available, especially when Santa is on his trek.
Elf MaxWe should probably write that into the training somewhere.
Elf VictorThat’s a good idea. But I think most serious trackers already know this.
Elf MaxYou mentioned an elf had to help Santa when he got injured. What about a reindeer? How does an elf know what to do when or if a reindeer gets injured?
Elf VictorWe don’t expect that. But we do expect an elf to get hold of us at the North Pole and that whoever receives messages from tracker elves response to such an emergency message appropriately.
Elf MaxVictor, this is really good information. Thank you for sharing it with us today.
Elf VictorThank you for allowing me to. I always love to discuss Santa’s reindeer.
Elf MaxWe’ll do it again then!
