School Teachers Flock to SantaTrackers.net

Over the course of the past two weeks we have seen several new sign-ups from school teachers. While it has been our experience to see this happen every year we have never seen such a large response as we are seeing this year.

“I think what is happening is that in many places around the world teachers are heading into a 2nd season of the pandemic.” said Elf Roger Star, International Director of Santa Trackers. “Some are again having to use virtual learning tools and environments in order to teach students. The art of the Santa Tracker online is especially suited to learning. Students learn geography, time zones, and a bit of history as Santa trackers. We are excited because each classroom we work with has the potential to bring us lots of new elves.”

Elf Lindy LaRoo, a special elf who works as a teacher ambassador at the North Pole, indicates that growth is especially strong in middle school age groups so far this year. She has been on the phone or in email contact with a number of teachers trying to serve their individual needs. “We have a long time until we can actually track Santa,” Lindy says. “But between now and Christmas we can help teachers design work that helps with math and science or social studies. It just depends on what they are already planning to do. Middle Schoolers love the Santa-theme math word problems we can come up. Figuring out things like how long it takes Santa to get to Tokyo from, say, Sydney.”

Teachers themselves frequent sign up to be elves on their own, too.

Elf Count Update for August

Greetings, Elves! Good news! We have great recruiting action going on. Here is our updated count of elves for August:

Sector 1 – 8.5 million – +15.2%
Sector 2 – 3.3 million – +2.7%
Sector 3 – 18.2 million – +4.6%
Sector 4 – 11.6 million – +2.3%
Sector 5 – 22.3 million – +17.4%

Total Elves – 64.0 million +9.5%

These are outstanding results, especially from Sectors 1 and 5. I think we knew Sector 5 would be strong but that is an exceptionally great number.

Our Freelance Elf count increased by 6.2% but our North Pole Elf Count increased by a whopping 20.2%

We only need 136 million more elves! That’s a fantastic report!

Your Elf Supervisor may update your sector with even more detailed information. Keep up the good work, elves!

North Pole Announcement Coming

Elf Ernest just posted a change to the scheduled North Pole Chat for next weekend and curiously mentioned something about an announcement coming soon.

North Pole Chat Schedule Change

I have not heard of anything. That means this could be big news. I’m not an important elf and I know of many announcements before they happen. But this one must be top-secret because I haven’t heard a thing.

More importantly (I think), the North Pole Chat for August has been moved up a day from Sunday to Saturday. I don’t know why they would do that, especially since this chat has been on the calendar all year.

So maybe something is up.

This chat is a general public chat (not just for elves) and it will be held over at SantaUpdate.com.

I will try to ask those I know what is going on and maybe we can schedule a follow-up chat here for elves either Saturday night or sometime on Sunday. I’ll keep you posted.

Santa Decides on Just One Tracker Elf Conference

Another Tracker Elf Conference has been scheduled before Santa’s flight. It will be held here on SantaTrackers.net on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10am EST until Noon EST. The conference agenda and assigned speakers will be announced at a later date.

With the high number of new elf recruits expected this year it was debated if more than one conference was necessary. After hearing from a number of lead elves from various departments Santa decided to hold just one conference on the date mentioned above.

“It was a difficult decision,” Elf Roger Star, International Director of Santa Trackers said. “We know there will be millions of elves who will sign up between December 18th and December 23rd, and they will miss the conference. But a goodly number of the elves we will have on board for Christmas will be ready and we feel December 18th is a good time to hold the meetings.”

Details of the Tracker Elf Conference are pending. You do have time right now to help shape the agenda of the conference by providing your suggestions for topics to be covered and personalities from the North Pole you want to hear from. Visit this link to provide your input.

As more details become available for this Tracker Elf Conference we will, of course, update you right here.

Recruiting Elves is Going Well

My Fellow Trackers of Santa: the recruiting of elves is going very well. Many of you do not seem to think so. Some of you feel the goal set by Santa is too high. I’m writing today to teach you a little bit about keeping up with the numbers.

Below is a chart that shows how many elves we recruited last year. The only thing to see in this chart is that the numbers for last year are different. In the end, the trend you see in the chart will be very similar to this:

Recruiting Elves

You will note that our growth curve last year was pretty steady until the end of November – then it exploded in the month of December.

Let’s talk a little about that. The numbers recently released has some of you concerned. Some of you are feeling a little discouraged by both the recent results and the big goal that Santa has set.

That is the wrong reaction, elves. You should be happy. In fact, you should be giddy and gleeful and over-the-moon insanely nuts about what has happened so far.

Why?

Well, you cannot look at the percentages and say “Gee, we could do better”. If we worked on percentages alone, a 4% increase from June to July does not look great. But look closer and what do you see? You see that Sector 1 added almost 400,000 elves from June to July.

Last year, in Sector 1, from June to July, only 74,514 elves were added.

Can you see the difference? On a percentage basis the growth is not that great. But on a real head count basis it’s off the charts – a record breaker!

This is good news. Any growth is good news. But I tell you this is more than just “any growth”. It is insane growth.

Santa was a genius to come up with this goal. Without it, we would not be doing as well as we are doing.

Now, over the course of the next several days your elf supervisor in every sector will be sharing the numbers – just as Elf Randi and Elf Tubby have already shared. I am meeting with each one. I will continue to meet with each one.

I am telling them – and I am telling you – don’t worry too much about the numbers. Do the best you can. That is all Santa asks.

As the chart above shows, we are never going to meet the goal with big months before December. It has never happened and it will not happen this year.

I will tell you this: I wouldn’t trade a SINGLE elf we recruit in December for those we get in the months before. Focus on finding believers who want to be elves. Do not waste your time with non-believers, mockers, bullies and those who scorn. Our best elves are recruited between now and Thanksgiving.

Why is that?

Human nature, I suppose. A lot of people will scoff at talking about Christmas in August. Let them scoff. Those same people will be back the week before Christmas begging to become elves.

They won’t be great elves, like you are. They won’t fully understand how to track Santa for Santa, like you do. You are here now. You are learning the way. You will be ready in ways they never can be from coming on board just a few days before Christmas.

Keep your head screwed on straight. We are doing very well. Most sectors are reporting similar numbers. They are nothing to scream about on a percentage basis. But on a real head count basis they are impressive and happy numbers.

If things are not going well, I will send that message personally.

But I am here today to tell you things are going GREAT. I do not anticipate that to change. Trust Santa. Trust the numbers. Trust yourself.

Thank you.

Tracking Santa on the Radio

Tracking Santa on the Radio is a long held tradition on Kringle Radio at the North Pole. Right now, in a player in the footer of this site, is a player that is sharing a rebroadcast of the Tracking Santa Around the World radio show from last Christmas. You can hear the best commercial-free Christmas music coupled with news reports directly from North Pole Radio News hosted by Elf Frank Myrrh. It’s the merriest radio show in the world!

This massive effort of elves in the News Department spans the globe. Each sector has their own news anchor. The great music is only interrupted with breaking news from “somewhere out there” every 15-30 minutes for more than 50 continuous hours. The program begins when Christmas Eve dawns in the far corners of the world and does not end until Santa safely returns to the North Pole. That’s more than 2 full days!

The are news updates from Flight Command, news reports from Elf Crash Murphy (Santa’s eye in the sky reporter who follows behind Santa every year, and interviews from eye witnesses and tracker elves all over the world.

We know not everyone can listen to this broadcast at Christmastime so we re-share it during Christmas in July. To hear the broadcast just click on the graphic below or via the player in the footer of this page.

Enjoy!

Elf Count Update for July

The Elf Count update for July is as follows by sector:

Sector 1 – 7.4 million = +4%
Sector 2 – 3.2 million = +5%
Sector 3 – 17.4 million = +6%
Sector 4 – 11.3 million = +1%
Sector 5 – 19.0 million = +12%

Total – 58.5 million = +7%

The breakdown worldwide in freelance elves vs North Pole elves is:

Freelance – 44.6 million – 3%
North Pole –  13.8 million – 19%

This is a very good beginning to the recruiting season. Congratulations to all elves in all sectors for their good work.

Please recognize these totals reflect tallies from all North Pole websites in all languages and cultures. We have in less than a month made up the shortfall in seasonal adjustments made last month and have surpassed the record established last December 23rd. Every mark going forward each month will represent a new record. This is outstanding news. We did not expect to achieve this for another month.

Santa’s stated goal for tracker elves in 2021 is 200 million. This aggressive (crazy) goal will require double digit increases every day, week, and month of the season.

We need better performance specifically in Sectors 1 and 4. We know that as we go along we will see greater growth in the freelance elf numbers than we will in the North Pole elf numbers. That’s okay – an elf is an elf.

Please seek direction from your elf supervisor, the Department of Elf Resources and other elves such as Elf Ivy Holley for how to achieve these numbers.

North Pole Radio Replay Scheduled This Week

Hello Trackers!

I send you greetings from North Pole Radio News. We are celebrating a little Christmas in July this week by listening to a radio replay of Tracking Santa Around the World from last Christmas.

Every year millions around the world listen to Kringle Radio, the North Pole Radio station that shares a very special two-day radio broadcast of commercial-free Christmas music interrupted only by occasional news of Santa as he makes his way around the world.

The news begins as Christmas Eve dawns in the far corners of the world in the South Pacific, long before Santa launches.

Our news team has radio reporters stationed at every Regional Tracking Center and in other locations all over the world to gather news, interview eye witnesses of Santa and to discuss the tracking of Santa’s flight.  Here is an example of one such radio news report:

We replay this special two-day program in July for those fans who couldn’t hear it last Christmas.

It is shared as well here on SantaTrackers.net for good training information.

As you listen to it you can hear the part trackers play in Santa’s flight (we interview as many as we can). Using the radio news with the live map from North Pole Flight Command on SantaTrackers.net gives you a tracking experience that is unmatched online.

The broadcast begins this week at 5am EST on July 23rd (matching the time it originally aired on December 23rd of last year). It runs for two full days, documenting every hour of Christmas Eve and Christmas morning around the world.

Elves can hear it via the radio player in the side bar of the Elf Wall once logged in. It will also be available on SantaUpdate.com.

Tracker Elf Conference Review

Tracker Elf Conference recaps are now online and include the complete chat transcripts from the event. The Tracker Elf Conference for Christmas in July 2021 was held Saturday, July 17th, and was well attended. Several elf presenters talked about topics of interest to Santa Trackers everywhere.

Here are some highlights:

  • Tracking Santa for Santa is different from how the world tracks Santa
  • Santa goes through front doors when a house does not have a chimney
  • Riding in a sleigh is difficult and requires training and certification
  • Nobody ever gets on the sleigh with Santa
  • Yes, Santa surfs
  • Santa often delivers gifts of relief supplies to countries, cities, towns, villages and families in need
  • Tracker elf reports definitely impact Santa’s flight plan
  • The 200 million tracker elf recruitment goal breaks down to just one recruit per elf per month
  • Santa is a scientist. That is why he uses numbers
  • Santa wants to have a special meeting later this year with Santa Tracker Elves

It should be noted that these were live events that allowed those in attendance to ask questions. Some of the best information came as a result of tracker elf questions. We encourage all to read the transcripts from each session.

This was just the first Tracker Elf Conference for this year. Another will be scheduled at a future date and we will keep you informed when that will be. It should be noted, according to Elf Roger Star, that Santa will be addressing Santa Tracker elves sometime shortly before he takes flight in December.

This was a great event and a lot of fun. Next time we hope more of you can attend.

Come to the Santa Tracker Elf Conference

We remind you that we are just hours away from our first Santa Tracker Elf Conference of the year.

This is the first official meeting of elves since Santa announced the tracker recruitment goal for this year. I’m sure you have questions. This will be the time and place to ask them.

The conference is a series of presentations given in Elf Chat by various presenters on topics of interest and training for tracker elves tracking Santa for Santa. You can see the agenda at this link.

We recognize this is coming during a period of normal vacation and “time off ” for many elves. Please do not worry if you cannot attend. Each presentation will be archived and made available for later review.

Each presentation is brief and allows for your questions to be asked and answered. So if you can be there it would be most helpful. If not, we understand. We believe other conferences will be held later in the year.
