Santa is on the Move

Elf Rolf beat me to it! I was on the call with Elf Crash as well. He’s asking elves in Sectors 3 and 5 to be on alert and to send in a weather report ASAP.

We don’t know the hour of Santa’s flight back to the North Pole. But we do know that Flight Command is going all kinds of crazy trying to get things lined up for his return.

This storm is dangerous. The landing will be the most important part of this trip.

We don’t know exactly where Santa is today. Have you seen him?

It’s clear, however, that his return flight to the North Pole later tonight will go through either Sector 3 or Sector 5.

Let’s support the effort to get him home safely.

Stand by for additional news or instruction today.  Anything could happen.

Thanks.

What All Elves Should Be Doing Right Now

Hi Elves!

Crash here – if you are new and you don’t know me, my name is Elf Crash Murphy and I’m the International Director of Santa Trackers. We makes me, more or less, the Head Elf, YOUR Head Elf, your boss’ boss. In my humble way, I’m here to tell ya what to do.

Now, if you follow along at SantaUpdate.com – and you should – then you likely know me from my North Pole Radio News reports as that guy who follows Santa every Christmas Eve and gives out news reports. That’s my Christmas Eve job, and it makes me, well, some people like to call me, the Ultimate Santa Tracker.

Anyway, if you’re new and don’t know what to do, relax. We’ll get you trained. There are lots of elves here to help you.

Right now and for the next five weeks or so we will be getting lots of new elves. There’s always mass confusion because a new elf wants to do everything. They want to tell other elves what to do, they want every elf job out there and they want to ride with Santa on his sleigh.

Well, again, relax. Ain’t none of that is going to happen because you are a new elf. And you have to learn to be the tracker elf you are before you get to do any of that stuff.

So, relax! We’ve all been there. Once upon a time we were all new elves.

So what should you be doing? Glad you asked!

I got together with all the Elf Supervisors and made this list. I’m banning the posting of news until at least the first part of next week (Monday, November 25th), so that you can catch up with the following things:

  1. If you are a freelance elf, READ EVERYTHING. Then send in your first freelance elf reportIn that first report I want you to just give us a status on yourself and your availability to track Santa for Santa up until Christmas Eve.
  2. If you are a North Pole elf and a member here of the Elf Community here at SantaTrackers.net, I want you to first get your profile set. You should put the word “Elf” in front of your name on your profile. You should have an avatar that represents YOU. And you should have a cover photo, which is placed behind your avatar on your profile. There are lots of elves and tutorials on the site to help you get this done.
  3. Then, no matter what kind of elf you are, I want you to go read everything at Elf University. Learn your Sector. Figure out who your Elf Supervisor is. You are tracking Santa for Santa – that means you will be communicating with the North Pole through your tracker reports. Take all this really seriously and learn how to do it FAST.
  4. Find the page to Santa Tracker Radio – and listen to it. It’s great. On December 23rd you’re all going to be listening to it because that’s when North Pole Radio News broadcasts the Tracking Santa around the World radio show. It’s very famous and you’ll hear me on there now and then.
  5. Then go listen to a few past episodes of the Santa Tracker Podcast. New episodes will be coming out soon and you will need to know where to find them. The older episodes all have great information about how to be a tracker elf.

Now let me give you some stuff NOT to do:

  1. Don’t tell others what to do. Elf Moe is just itching to ban elves who don’t belong here because they get a big head because they’re an elf. We don’t do that. BE NICE.
  2. If you’re new, don’t even think of trying to get an additional elf job unless Elf Sandy Claus in Elf Resources says you can apply for something. Most jobs require a lot of points and at least one year of service. So if you’re new, you won’t get any of the jobs being posted.
  3. Don’t give up. Being an elf is not easy. Lots of other elves here will help you. You will get it and Santa needs you.

Ok, now let me just ask our veteran elves who have been here more than a year to do a few things:

  1. If there are new jobs posted by Elf Sandy Claus, please consider applying for them.
  2. Please help the new elves in everyway you can.
  3. Please help new elves you know to sign up at SantaTrackers.net. We need more GOOD elves.
  4. Participate in the Elf Parade next week by submitting pictures of your costume and how you dress up your bike, trike, scooter, etc.
  5. Make sure you are up to date on your reports.
  6. Watch the skies for flying sleighs. There are LOTS of them out there right now (watch the News at NorthPoleFlightCommand.com and SantaUpdate.com for more on that)
  7. Elf Supes are going to ask for pictures of your Christmas trees soon. Just a heads up.

Ok, you got questions? Ask them in the comments below.

Thank you, Elves.

Let’s Get It Together

Elves of Sector 5, both freelance and North Pole elves —

We’re getting swamped with new elf sign-ups, both of freelance and North Pole elves. I’m talking MILLIONS.

In an effort to get you all on track PLEASE do the following right away:

  1. Read this post from Elf Crash, International Director of Santa Trackers.
  2. Have a good home tracking center set up. We do not instruct how to do this. We just encourage you to stay organized.
  3. Send in a weekly weather report, either on Friday or Saturday. This is VERY important and it runs until Santa launches.
  4. Next week is Thanksgiving, and that’s when the Elf Parade is happening. If you’re decorating your own trike, bike, etc. we’re going to ask you post pictures.
  5. Things are about to go crazy, Christmas and Santa’s launch will be here before you know it. If you can check in every day.

If you can attend the scheduled chats, please do so. There will be more chats scheduled, including one with me at some point soon. If you have times/days that are best for you, don’t be afraid to leave that in the comments below.

Are you paying attention? Have you been to Elf University? Do you know your job as a tracker elf?

Let’s pay attention!

Elf Status Update Needed

Hi Elves,

A couple of things for you today. First, I’m asking for an Elf Status update from each of you again. It’s been about two months since I last asked for this and we have had SO MANY new elves sign up that I feel I need to ask for it again.

You can get to that report by clicking here.

Be aware that in the coming weeks I’ll be asking for an Elfie Selfie from you. I realize most of you don’t have your Christmas tree up yet so I’ll wait until around Thanksgiving to ask for that. I want to see your smiling elf faces! So, just a heads up.

Finally, after a lot of arguing with North Pole Security I can finally post this picture of me, taken in an auxiliary office here in St. Nicholas. They really obscured a lot of detail for whatever their reasons are. Don’t mind my hair – this was pre-coloring recently. It’s even more pink now.

Elf Pinky

Haha.

Chimney Inspections Extended

After conferring with Elf Roger Star of North Pole Flight Command we have been given permission to extend the chimney inspection deadline in Sector 5 to November 30th.

This is being done to accommodate the number of elves just now signing up to track Santa for Santa.

It’s a good idea because so much of our Sector is in northern areas where there are many chimneys.

You can access the Chimney Inspection report at this link.

We advise getting them done as soon as you can if you have not done them already. We don’t want elves out in the cold and the bad weather doing inspections! So the sooner the better.

Thanks, elves!

City Captains Report!

I asked Elf Sandy Claus of the Department of Elf Resources to post the City Captain position. Just about every Sector needs them and all the other Elf Supervisors will want more of them as well.

As City Captain you will be the local resource for all things pertaining to tracking Santa. People can ask you questions and you can recruit new elves to the cause there locally. If you are effective in this role you can easily become a Tracker Commander.

If you have served as a City Captain before you can do it again. You likewise can hold this job while holding other positions.

These jobs are claimed – meaning you just fill out the form and you automatically get the job. No interview, no waiting for answers. I believe once you accept the job there is a badge for it and Elf Max or Elf Sandy can help you with that.

Buckle up, Elves. It’s about to get exciting.

What New Elves Need to Do

Hi Friends in Sector 5,

We are enjoying a lot of new elves in recent days. I thought I’d post some reminders of what new elves need to do:

1. Get your profile right here on SantaTrackers.net. There are instructions for this but you should be able to figure it out easily. You need “Elf” in front of your name, you need a profile picture and cover.

2. Read the entire site. Go to Elf University to see how things work and how to be a tracker elf tracking Santa for Santa.

3. Ask questions. That’s what the Elf Wall is for. Lots of elves here will be glad to help you. It’s a great group.

4. Set up your home tracking center. You spend a lot of time there. Get comfy. Have Christmas stuff around you – a tree, a mug of nog, music, whatever works for you.

5. I’ll be sending out requests now and then for certain reports. If you haven’t done a tracker report yet you can learn the process by sending in these reports from your location as soon as you possibly can: – A roof report, a chimney inspection report, and a weather report. The weather report we will ask for more than any other report between now and when Santa launches. So doing these reports will teach you how to do them. Again, they are very easy.

6. Get familiar with the Santa Tracker Map. We’re in the tracking test flight phase of things right now.

Finally, be sure to check in several times a week. If you sign up, then wait to show up a few days before launch, you’re doing it wrong.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

False Sleigh Sightings Reported

We have received a rash of potential sleigh sightings in Sector 5 in the last few hours. All of them are coming from the American Southwest – areas of Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

There’s just one little problem: there are actually no sleighs in our Sector at all right now, according to North Pole Flight Command.

So if they are not sleighs, what are elves out there seeing?

We’re not sure. And flight command is now curious about it as well. They have dispatched drones and are contacting SkyNet to see if they have any data. It is possible that they will send scout sleighs to investigate if these reports persist.

We’re not saying we don’t believe you. But whatever is in your skies out there are not sleighs from the North Pole.

We’ll keep you posted.

Status Report Requested

Howdy Elves in Sector 5,

I am pleased to report that Sector 5’s regional tracking center in St. Nicholas, Minnesota is now fully operational. We’re open for business completely.

Our thanks to the crack crew of elves from Flight Command and Santa’s Workshop for getting us up and running.

All things considered, we feel like we are in good shape.

Some of you are writing in asking “what about us?” as you see requests coming from other Elf Supervisors for their sector. This is especially true of chimney inspections which have been kind of a hot topic.

We do NOT feel the need to put out a similar request at this time. HOWEVER, if you have NOT yet done chimney inspections in your area please think about doing them soon. I’m targeting November 10th for this task in our sector.

I did check with Elf Roger and he tells me the forecast, especially for Canada in our Sector, is not the same as what we’re seeing in other Sectors. Elf Roger did advise “a regular schedule” for our region.

I think, just to stay organized, we’d like to request at this time an Elf Status Report for all elves in Sector 5. If you can get that done it would give us an idea of how many elves we have active right now. That may determine what we ask to have done.

We might also be asking for this same status report in the months and weeks ahead. So please check in here frequently.

The Elf Status Report can be found at this link.

Thanks. You guys rock.

Heading to Minnesota

The time has finally come! Hopefully, you’ve seen the news out of SantaUpdate.com – we in Sector 5 are no longer homeless. We are headed to St. Nicholas, Minnesota even as I type this.

I have not heard the whole story yet of how this happened. I am quite surprised that we will be in the United States this Christmas. So many other places were talked about and it bounced around for months so much so that I thought it would be impossible to go back to the US so soon.

I reached the point where I didn’t really care, honestly. I just wanted it done.

Well, now it is and we’re more than ready for it. We’re going to get set up there as fast as we can and THEN you’re going to get some news, Sector 5.

We’re very excited and we thank Elf Crusader very much for the idea.

Special Weather Report

Greetings elves of Sector 5,

As we continue to work here at North Pole Flight Command (without a Regional Tracking Center to our name), I’ve been asked to put forth a special request.

Test flight planners are looking for forecasted bad weather within Sector 5 around the middle of September. I know it might be hard to find, and that there are no guarantees, but if you could use our standard weather report to share any information from your area about possible storms of any kind starting around September 15th they would appreciate knowing about it.

Right now they don’t know for sure what direction the test flights will take starting this weekend but it could be towards our sector if there is active weather.

The test flights are entering a critical phase and they need BAD weather to test things completely, at least that’s what I’m hearing.

As for the latest on a Regional Tracking Center for us, I have no new news. I hear that Elf Roger Star is back in Canada this week talking to some people, however.

If there is news with that I will, of course, share it as soon as possible.

Thanks, Elves!

Regional Tracking Center Update

Hi elves,

I understand some of you have been writing in to the North Pole very concerned about the Regional Tracking Center for Sector 5. I do have some news to share – a little.

First of all, you should know that for now we are taking up space at North Pole Flight Command and we are fully operational – as if we had our own Regional Tracking Center. We’re in good shape. It’s still very early in the season, of course, but just because we do not yet have an official location doesn’t mean we are not officially working. We are.

Elf Crash Murphy has been busy this week. He has been to Panama, Mexico, the United States and Canada. He has been meeting with several finalist locations and had held several Zoom calls with both Elf Roger Star and with Santa.

While there is nothing yet official to report I understand good progress has been made. Elf Crash will be back online soon to report on the situation personally.

Please understand that no matter when or where they place us we will be ready to move seamlessly from our temporary offices here at North Pole Flight Command – you won’t even notice it when that time does come.

That being said, right now, what we need from you more than anything are weather reports. It is active hurricane season and that is affecting the oceans of the the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico and all countries and island nations that have their shores in those waters.

It’s my understanding that there are presently two storms forming in the Atlantic that we need to keep an eye on.

The test flights of Santa’s sleigh are not presently even in our hemisphere but I don’t know if or when that will change. They’ve already changed course from the Middle East to somewhere now in Sector 2. They could come into our orbit within a day or two.

So if you live in the Caribbean or along the Gulf Coast or in the South Eastern USA keep those weather reports coming.

This is a quickly changing thing, as is normal for this time of year, in our area. Let’s help keep those reindeer and those pilots and those test flight sleighs SAFE!

When I know more of what’s going on with our Regional Tracking Center you elves will be the first to know.

Thank you for your hard work!
