Whooooo! Sector 3, we can now check in, per Flight Command:
Elf Crash Murphy, International Director of Santa Trackers, has informed me that a lot of effort will be made before Santa launches to answer your questions.
There will be the North Pole Chat on Sunday at 10AM EST as well as late news being posted on all official North Pole websites all weekend. Crash also says he and Frank will do a podcast that focuses on the current needs Santa has as well as the questions you might have.
Please respond to this post below with questions you want to submit. You can alternatively send them to me via Private Message (for North Pole Elves part of the Elf Community).
We want to take questions from ALL tracker elves tracking Santa for Santa, so please use the comment area below to ask.
I think Elf Frank and Elf Crash plan to release that podcast sometime on Saturday, so you’ve got plenty of time to ask your questions.
Thanks!
Due to circumstances related to Operation Airlift we have decided to move up the check-in process worldwide.
Check-ins will be announced via your Elf Supervisor beginning on Saturday, December 21st instead of our original plan of the 22nd.
Tracker Check-in is a process that tells your Elf Supervisor that you are or are not available to work tracking Santa for Santa.
We remind you that Santa is very concerned for your time with your family during this important season. As such, do not feel bad if you cannot be available all the time between the 21st and when Santa arrives at your home.
We appreciate what time you can dedicate to the cause of tracking Santa for Santa.
It is anticipated that this weekend will be filled with news and direction from the Elf Supervisors.
We invite you to participate, if your schedule allows, in the scheduled North Pole chat set for Sunday, December 22nd. I will be hosting that chat and will be able to share and answer questions about the latest in the status of Operation Merry Christmas.
Operation Airlift is off schedule. North Pole Flight Command has had to modify their original plans due to difficulties in getting sleighs launched from the North Pole.
As such, we anticipate this weekend will be filled with a lot of breaking news. We may be asking for reports or observations from local areas that go beyond the norm.
If time allows, Elf Frank and I will likely release a new SantaTrackers.net Podcast to discuss issues this weekend as well.
I encourage you all to read what Elf Ed Zachary posted earlier today. It may help you understand the challenges we are facing as a team in helping Santa get around the world.
As for Santa, he is well aware of the situation and is monitoring things. He plans to continue his visits with believers. At this time, he does not plan a return to the North Pole at a different time than scheduled. He continues to check in with Elf Roger Star on the status of Operation Airlift.
Santa has instructed me to check in with him every 12 hours. Those quick check-ins are by phone and I remain ready to not only forward our questions and concerns to Santa but also to receive his direction.
I will be posting as needed over the next several days so that you know what is going on and how you can help during this time.
Thank you.
As you saw Elf Pinky in Sector 5 say, we’re asking all elves to send in the same report. This is very rare. This is worldwide. This is asked of tracker elves everywhere.
We held a Zoom meeting with North Pole Flight Command today and Elf Roger said that after a serious conversation with Santa yesterday it was decided we need to do this.
You can access the report at this link.
We need to know what you are seeing out there. Please answer the questions and send it in as soon as you can.
This is a points-eligible report. It counts!
Elves,
Over the past couple of weeks in the regular news media there have been reports of UFOs in many places around the world. In our Sector, they are appearing in England and in Germany. There might be other places as well. Here are a couple of photos of what some people are seeing:

Some people have been sending in pictures like this and reporting the UFOs. Some think they are connected with North Pole Flight Command or Santa in some way.
We are aware of these events. There are so many reported sightings that it is hard for us to keep track of them.
We even have elves on ships of the North Pole Navy that have photographed or captured video of UFOs in the North Atlantic.
We can assure you what these things are NOT: they are NOT flying sleighs. In fact, we are yet to receive a photo in our regional tracking center from our sector this year of a flying sleigh.
We don’t bring this up to scare anyone. Like others, we cannot say what these things are. But we are aware of them and we’re wondering, just like everyone else is.
For the record, we are keeping all North Pole sleigh craft far away from areas that report UFO activity.
We remain interested in this story. We will follow the direction of local governments, now and into the future, when it relates to Santa’s flight or flights of other sleighs of the North Pole. We do not expect issues that might impede Santa’s presence in our sector this year.
Just know we are aware and are following the news closely on this situation. If you see something that you think might be a sleigh, by all means report it. We will try to confirm if it is a sleigh or not.
Thanks.
I just got off the phone with Elf Crash. He’s placing us on alert status.
If you’re available, please send in a current weather report.
I’ve been instructed to tell you that sleigh sightings late tonight will be very possible in our sector.
If you see something – if the weather allows – please report it.
This is not a drill. Santa is in the air.
Hi Elves!
Crash here – if you are new and you don’t know me, my name is Elf Crash Murphy and I’m the International Director of Santa Trackers. We makes me, more or less, the Head Elf, YOUR Head Elf, your boss’ boss. In my humble way, I’m here to tell ya what to do.
Now, if you follow along at SantaUpdate.com – and you should – then you likely know me from my North Pole Radio News reports as that guy who follows Santa every Christmas Eve and gives out news reports. That’s my Christmas Eve job, and it makes me, well, some people like to call me, the Ultimate Santa Tracker.
Anyway, if you’re new and don’t know what to do, relax. We’ll get you trained. There are lots of elves here to help you.
Right now and for the next five weeks or so we will be getting lots of new elves. There’s always mass confusion because a new elf wants to do everything. They want to tell other elves what to do, they want every elf job out there and they want to ride with Santa on his sleigh.
Well, again, relax. Ain’t none of that is going to happen because you are a new elf. And you have to learn to be the tracker elf you are before you get to do any of that stuff.
So, relax! We’ve all been there. Once upon a time we were all new elves.
So what should you be doing? Glad you asked!
I got together with all the Elf Supervisors and made this list. I’m banning the posting of news until at least the first part of next week (Monday, November 25th), so that you can catch up with the following things:
Now let me give you some stuff NOT to do:
Ok, now let me just ask our veteran elves who have been here more than a year to do a few things:
Ok, you got questions? Ask them in the comments below.
Thank you, Elves.
It is time to begin weekly weather reports from all areas of Sector 3 effective immediately. It does not matter what day of the week you do them – for now – but I’m told the steady drip of regular reports are needed to help in flight planning. Weather data in our sector is matched with sleigh performance data from the test flights and some how that stuff matched together gives them a good idea of what to expect when Santa flies.
Speaking of Santa’s sleigh, I’m told the test flights of Santa’s sleigh will be over Sector 3 at least one more time before Christmas. As I get more details of this I will let you know.
We welcome new elves in the Sector. If you have not been here to respond to previous requests, we are looking for a chimney inspection and a roof report from your area first.
More to come soon.
Friends,
We have many new elves in Sector 3, some of them joining in just the last week. We see a pattern in new elves. They read a lot of information but they don’t ask a bunch of questions. Many just start sending in tracker reports without really knowing what they are doing. That’s one way to learn, but it is inefficient and it makes our job a little more difficult here and at North Pole Flight Command.
So let’s start at the very beginning.
All elves need to prepare themselves before they begin tracking Santa for Santa. That first step, beyond going to Elf University, talking to other elves, and learning the craft of being a tracker, is to set the right tone.
An elf needs to be working in the right environment.
That means setting up a home tracking center that is appropriate. I just want to share some thoughts with you about that.
Of course, you’ve got your computer. That’s a given. But in some cases you only have a tablet and a phone. Whatever you are using does not matter but let’s be honest: a computer is best.
We work, as tracker elves, in a world of words, maps and these websites. This website should tell you all you need to know about being a tracker elf. I will send instructions from time to time about what they want us to do. Other times, like right now, I’m just trying to help you in your job as an elf.
For news about Santa and what’s going on at the North Pole, with the reindeer and the sleigh and stuff, well, that’s handled by the News Department at SantaUpdate.com.
Then there’s NorthPoleFlightCommand.com, which you will see if you’ve never been a tracker elf a couple of days before Christmas, really controls just about everything that goes on.
Getting a handle on those three websites – santatrackers.net, santaupdate.com and northpoleflightcommand.com – is why you need a computer and why you need a good space to work at home.
So make it comfy.
Have a good chair, a decent desk, and good lighting. It’s okay to have a Christmas tree, lights and other decorations. A source of eggnog, candy canes, and maybe a place to hang your stocking is also advised but not required. Playing Kringle Radio while you do your elf work is also advised.
The work of elves is the working of helping others. When I ask for a report, I’m asking you to help others. You help others by helping Santa.
So you need a good place to think through that.
That’s your home tracking center.
I’m asking elves in our sector and any sector to please post photos of your home tracking center. Give your fellow elves an idea of what it looks like for you. Share ideas. Talk about how to make it as elf like as you can.
This is where we begin. It is an important detail.
Do the best you can.
In our weekly meeting with North Pole Flight Command we were informed that the test flights of Santa’s Sleigh will be in our Sector through the end of the month.
This will be an excellent opportunity to see flying sleighs, especially since the weather will be pretty good still over the next few weeks. The test flights are scheduled to be running both night and day.
If you see sleighs in flight at any time please report it as soon as you can. So far, we have NOT yet had any sleigh sightings this year. I have it on good authority that a prize of some sort will be awarded to the first elf in any sector who files a valid report with verified photos.
I sure hope an elf in Sector 3 can snag that prize.
Thanks, elves!
Ok, Elves. After discussions with Elf Roger Star we have determined that the best plan is to get all roof reports in Sector 3 completed by the end of the month.
This is for all roofs in all areas of Sector 3. This goes out to all elves everywhere in Europe and Africa.
This is the earliest we have ever targeted this for completion. The roof report is found at this link.
Bear in mind, YOU might see a local need for additional roof reports before Santa flies. And that’s fine. You can send them in at any time.
But please remember our guidelines for doing roof reports. You must remain safe. STAY ON THE GROUND. If you suspect damage that needs closer inspection, please report that to Flight Command in your report and we will send a team of elves to your location to do an in-air inspection, by sleigh or by drone, depending upon the availability of equipment and elf power in our sector.
The sooner we can act on these situations the better.
Thank you.
Hi Elves!
Elf Seymour Snow in the Weather Department at North Pole Flight Command just shared the weather forecast for Northern and Eastern Europe through the end of October. They are predicting cold and unsettled weather.
After conferring with Elf Roger Star, we have determined to push up chimney inspections in those areas. We want you to get those inspections in now while it is safe to do so.
To file a chimney inspection report, please go to this link.
We have a lot of chimneys in these areas, so we know this is a big job. You only need to inspect the chimney on your own house and the ones on either side of your home. If you can do more, we appreciate the information.
If you have already completed the chimney inspections, thank you, you do not need to do them again.
Thanks, elves!
