Sector 2 on the Move

Hello my friends in Sector 2. Yes, I’m alive! And yes, it’s time for us to get our house in order in Sector 2.

I’ve been delayed in getting word out to you. We’ve been busy here getting set up in Turkmenistan with our tracking center and we’ve just had a Dickens of a time with getting a steady internet connection. Those delays have caused me to delay asking for things from you.

But, we’re in still good shape time wise and I think things are working well enough now that we can get started.

This year, my first order of business is to see if we can find a qualified sector lead for Sector 2.

That position is therefore open. If you are interested, please apply. I’d like to get that taken care of as soon as we can get it done.

In the meantime, please stand by for further instruction – it’s coming soon!

Report Form for Finding Santa

As we promised earlier last week we now have activated a report form so that tracker elves can report possible sightings of Santa.

Finding Santa

This report is a little different. It goes straight to the Finding Santa Trask Force at North Pole Flight Command.

When you send in information via this form it gets added to the database of other information recently gathered about Santa’s possible location.

This allows analysts to compare all the information.

With this mass amount of information, Elf Roger Star, Elf Agent X and other task force leaders can move elf assets from the North Pole Sleigh Fleet, the North Pole Navy, and Flight Command Scout teams to different locations.

We recognize that these reports are mostly tips. Most will likely not pan out. However, all it takes is one good report to move us closer to finding Santa.

We hope you will use this report form frequently. There are NO bad reports!

The News Department will be providing updates at least weekly. Be sure to follow breaking developments at SantaUpdate.com, NorthPoleFlightCommand.com and right here on SantaTrackers.net for ongoing information.

Thank you.

Time to Call it a Night, Sector 2

As predicted, North Pole Flight Command has just extended our stand down order. That means we fall under the bedtime advisory rules for our area and will need to soon head to bed.

Before you go, let me just wish you a Merry Christmas and thank you once again for your service to Santa.

His flight in our sector appears to be moving along without issue. This is to your credit. Nice work, elves.

Final Weather Report for Sector 2

When Flight Command asks for your “final” weather report it is a good indication that our stand down order is coming in the next few hours. Let’s make sure we give Santa good information here:

Tracker Center Examples Wanted

This is an odd request: they want to see photos of tracking centers out there, the kind you have in your home. Especially if you are using paper maps. They want actual pictures. If you have a picture of your space where you do tracking or if you can take one real quick, please send it in via the form below.

I’m marking this down as an informal request (so it’s not mandatory):

Flight Command Wants Your Questions

Activity now at Flight Command for us – finally! They want to hear your questions. I’m guessing things are going to be a little slow until Santa actually launches.

So, what do you want to know? Ask it below:

Christmas Eve NOW in Sector 2

Elves of Sector 2 – we’re in the Red Zone. This is it – Christmas Eve!

If you’re checked in, that means we’re ready. That means we’re going to be ready to help Santa in any way that we can.

So…I have to tell you this: there is a TOTALLY different feeling this year about tracking Santa for Santa.

I think I figured out what it is. It’s the fact that we have been reporting for months. We’ve worked to analyze all your weather updates, your roof inspections and your chimney inspections, all your reports of every type – and we have put it together into a database according to precise locations and it’s all there right now for when Santa comes to our sector.

What do we have to do NOW?

Actually, very little.

Here at our Regional HQ in Bethlehem it’s already been a fun Christmas Eve. Everyone brought in something for the luncheon today. Lots of cheeses and crackers and cupcakes and donuts and chips and nuts and candy canes and eggnog and hot cocoa and Alka Seltzer. When has that ever happened before?

It’s a party here.

Yeah, we’re ready to do business. But we’re relaxed. No stress. Even some ping pong being played.

This is great. So thank you for your hard work this year.

I’ll let you know when Flight Command has something they want us to do. Until then – party on!

Trackers – Check In!

Trackers of Sector 2 – we’re on the clock. We’re 24 hours away from Christmas Eve which means we’re officially tracking Santa for Santa right now (well, Santa doesn’t launch for quite a while but North Pole Flight Command is is full operation mode and if they ask me for something, I’m gonna ask you). Please let me know your availability below:

Sector 2 Adds to the Tracking Effort

Hello friends of Sector 2 –

Like the other Elf Supervisors I’m very excited. This is a big week and I think it is going to be a good one.

I won’t burden you with the numbers other than to say that in a week’s time we have doubled our number of elves. We still do not have enough, but that is more of an indication of the size of our sector than anything else.

We have what we need to meet our goals and I think we’re going to meet them.

But instead of focusing on numbers I want instead to prepare you for what we need to do this week. It is as much about timing now, as it is anything else.

We need you to be online at the right time.

We need you to respond now at the right time.

We need you to know what’s happening when it’s happening.

Up to this point, all your reports have been sent in on your time.

But now – as we get closer with every passing hour to Santa’s launch – it becomes as much about WHEN you report as WHAT you report.

So, eat your Wheaties. Get good sleep. Organize yourself, your calendar, your schedule and your mind.

Specific instructions will be coming to you. Soon. Very soon. So please be on the site as often as you can – and help all these new elves as much as possible. They will be more tuned in to time – but they might need help knowing what to do when the time comes.

Thanks, elves.

A New Tracker Challenge

Greetings, my tracker friends. It is time for my final tracker update of this season. This Friday, December 23rd, Santa will launch from the North Pole and make a journey around the world unlike any other he has taken before.

Why will it be different?

It will be different because he will have at his command more detailed information about most areas he will be flying. I spoke with Santa earlier today and he is just THRILLED with the Santa tracker effort this year. Although we are now just over 500 million tracker reports, which is over halfway to our goal, reports are coming in so fast that Santa feels confident we will meet and exceed our goal easily.

We have, however, some news to share with you today that you need to be aware of:

  1. The Santa Tracking Map here at SantaTrackers.net has now gone “dark”. The next time you see it will be when Santa himself launches.
  2. The test flights of Santa’s sleigh will now take a new chapter. The final version of the sleigh is being launched from the North Pole today. It will continue to fly until Thursday night, when it will return to the North Pole for a brief adjustment period. A final test flight will take place on Friday, December 23rd.
  3. That final version will feature 12 different sleighs. They will launch from the North Pole tonight and will fly only at night. Each Sector will have at least 2 sleighs in flight at a time, some will have 3.
  4. We challenge our tracker elves, between now and when Santa himself launches, to find and photograph or video any of these sleighs in flight over the next four days. Any elf who can post photographic evidence that is confirmed by North Pole Flight Command will be awarded 25,000 points by Santa himself.

That’s great news and a great opportunity for each tracker out there. We have lots of other announcements coming over the next few days. Here is what you can expect:

  • Each sector will begin a “check-in” process for tracking Santa according to the time zones of that sector. Please be paying attention.
  • A special set of “short form” reports designed for fast use while Santa is in flight will be introduced.
  • Announcements from each sector will now happen at very random times. All trackers are encouraged to check in frequently.

As a reminder, I will be in Elf Chat on Christmas Eve. I’m not sure what to expect, given the unexpected nature of the news of Santa’s sleigh this year, the many different kinds of weather challenges all over the world expected next weekend, and the unpredictable nature of tracking Santa in general. However, I will do my best to be there and prepared to discuss the latest with you.

This is a very exciting week ahead for us. Let’s stay focused on our job and get Santa around the world.

Elf Roger Star
