Few decisions you make are more important than a decision you can make only once: what to call yourself as an elf.
Here on SantaTrackers.net – and at the North Pole – you will be known as “Elf (Whatever the Name You Choose)”.
The “elf” at the first part of your name is very important. It is a title, much like “Captain”. It is a meaningful title, too. It tells the world you hold a very important position. It is a title of trust.
But the next part of your elf name is very important, too. It should reflect you, your personality, and your love of being an elf.
You should take some time to think about it.
Part of your work as an elf is that sometimes you need to work in secret. Keeping secrets is a very important part of being an elf. One secret you should always keep is your real identity. If your name is Katelyn you don’t want your elf name to be Elf Katelyn. That does not keep a secret. By coming up with something entirely different you ensure that your real identity remains cloaked and that your elf identity points to something unique.
For example, some people like to use names or words associated with Christmas in their elf name. They choose names like Elf Noel or Elf Candy Cane. These are excellent choices because they send a merry message and keep real identities hidden.
Others like to use variations on names to make them Christmas or Santa related. Elf Merry, instead of Elf Mary, for example. Again, an excellent idea.
And still others like to use names they wish they had in real life – Elf Lisa or Elf Finn – for example. Those work too.
You only get to come up with one elf name and it sticks with you forever. You want it to reflect you without revealing you.
