Elf Trixie came to Santa Tracker Chat on July 1st to kick off our schedule of chats for Christmas in July. She covered a wide range of topics including what it’s like to work for Mrs. Claus. Here is the transcript of that conversation:

| Elf Trixie | Hi everyone. Gol. It feels like ages since I was last here. |
| Elf Ulan | I hope many elves will come here soon! |
| Elf Max | Hi Trixie. Well, it’s been ages since any of us have been here. I think the last time the chatroom was used was last Christmas. |

| Elf Trixie | By the way, Elf Crash is here in my office. We had a meeting and he’s peeking over my shoulder. He says hi. |

| Elf Trixie | Yes, so was Elf Moe. |

| Elf Trixie | Crash says hi and then he said that’s all he’s saying because he doesn’t want to interfere in my chat |

| Elf Trixie | I know, right? |
| Elf Max | Oh hi to Elf Moe too. Is he still there? |
| Elf Trixie | No, he had to go bust someone in the knee caps. |
| Elf Max | Wut? Seriously? |
| Elf Ulan | I know he’s kind ^^ |
| Elf Trixie | No I’m just kidding. |
| Elf Trixie | He is kind. |
| Elf Trixie | Moe is SUCH a serious elf though |
| Elf Trixie | I told him today I was going to make him smile at least once a day |
| Elf Max | Is that possible? |
| Elf Trixie | Yes, he’s really a big softie. |

Trixie has taken up a temporary assignment as Chief of Staff to Mrs. Claus, so her role right now is very different. Trixie, welcome! |

| Elf Max | Trixie, are you liking your new assignment? |
| Elf Trixie | Yes and no. |
| Elf Max | Explain |
| Elf Trixie | Well, on the good side, I’m learning a lot. I meet a lot of elves. I see a lot more of how Santa works. The North Pole too. That’s all very interesting to me. |
| Elf Trixie | But on the bad side I miss my old job. I miss finding news. I miss being “normal”, if that makes sense. |
| Elf Max | What do you mean by being “normal”? |
| Elf Trixie | I was “important” before. Now a lot of people here think I am and really, I’m not. I just help Mrs. Claus, but I’m not an important elf. I don’t make decisions or have secret knowledge. But people treat me different because they think I am important. |
| Elf Max | You sound a little bit like Elf Crash. |
| Elf Trixie | Oh yes. He and I have discussed it quite a bit |
| Elf Max | What happens after Santa get back? |
| Elf Trixie | Well, I hope I just go back to my old job. |
| Elf Max | Do you think that will happen? |
| Elf Trixie | We haven’t even discussed it. I’m afraid to bring it up. |
| Elf Max | Afraid? How come? |
| Elf Ulan | I think both Elf Trixie, Elf Crash and Elf Max are very important ^^ |
| Elf Trixie | I just don’t like talking about myself. So change the subject! |
| Elf Max | Oh okay. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable. Your presence here in chat today was requested by a lot of people. They have questions for you! |
| Elf Trixie | That’s good. I love questions….as long as they are not about me. |
| Elf Max | I don’t know if I can totally escape asking some of those questions. We got a question from Elf Shelley- I don’t know her – but she wants to know if you know private things about Santa and Mrs. Claus |

| Elf Trixie | Like…what is she talking about? |
| Elf Ulan | Oh, Elf Trixie, can I ask your favorite something? |
| Elf Max | I think it is more like personal stuff, family, that kind of thing…. |
| Elf Trixie | Oh okay. Elf Ulan, what’s your question? |
| Elf Trixie | To answer that question, yes. I know more about Santa and Mrs. Claus than I ever did before. That is true. |
| Elf Max | Is it hard to know those things? |
| Elf Ulan | Thank you! What’s your favorite workshop by Santa and Mrs? Claus? |
| Elf Trixie | No. Not really. They are just really good, normal people. I have grown to really love Santa and Mrs. Claus |
| Elf Trixie | Elf Ulan, that’s a very good question because you’re right, there are many “workshops” |
| Elf Trixie | I think one of my favorite workshop is the Puppy Training Shop |
| Elf Max | What’s that? |
| Elf Cookie Dough | Does Santa and Mrs Claus have any pets besides the reindeer |
| Elf Ulan | (thank you!) |
| Elf Trixie | It’s a place where they train puppies. Santa gives many people puppies for Christmas. So many ask for them and many times Santa has to say no because parents sometimes do not think their children are ready for that responsibility. But others do want puppies so Santa works on training them before he delivers. |
| Elf Max | Wow, that’s awesome! |
| elf radar | Elf Trixie, your new job must have a lot of responsibility. What is the best part of this job? |
| Elf Trixie | Elf Cookie Dough, yes, they have lots of dogs! Mrs. Claus has a cat named Mr. Whiskers |
| Elf Cookie Dough | Aww that’s awesome |
| Elf Max | See? This is GREAT information, Trixie. Did you know any of this before? |
| Elf Trixie | Not really no. Well, I had heard about the puppy thing and was going to write a story about it. But Mrs. C took me there one day and I saw it for myself. You should SEE all the things they have those little puppies do. |
| Elf Max | Like what? |
| Elf Ulan | Aww, yeah, that’s awesome! Santa always takes care of everything |
| Elf Trixie | Simple things. Little eating and drinking out of a bowl. Following simple commands. And of course, potty training. Santa works on all of that. |
| Elf Max | Do you go to the puppy place much? |
| Elf Trixie | I go there all the time. It’s such a happy place. |
| Elf Trixie | I’m going to start taking Elf Moe there. That’ll make him smile! |
| Elf Cookie Dough | Is Santa back at the North Pole yet or are we still searching for him |
| Elf Max | Someone asked about your favorite part of your job right now…can you speak to that? |
| Elf Trixie | I love Mrs. Claus. We’ve become close. She’s a great lady |
| Elf Trixie | And no Cookie Dough, Santa is definitely not back. In fact, Ernest created a bit of a stir with Mrs. Claus in that chat a little while ago. |
| Elf Max | He did? How? |
| Elf Sugar Cookie | I would love to work there someday! I’m hoping to have a career working with dogs someday. |
| Elf Trixie | Ernest said that Santa called him. Mrs. Claus is a little peeved about that. |
| Elf Max | Oh oh. |
| Elf Cookie Dough | Oh ok thank you Elf Trixie |
| Elf Trixie | I can tell you that he hasn’t called her lately. |
| Elf Max | So Santa is on Mrs. Claus’ naughty list? |
| Elf Ulan | Elf Trixie, are dogs your favorite animals? Do you have it? |
| Elf Trixie | Well, how would you feel? |
| Elf Trixie | Elf Ulan. I do not have a dog. The closet I have to a pet is my reindeer, Trixie. And I don’t get to see her much. |
| Elf Max | I see. So what is your part to play in this thing between Santa and Mrs. Claus? |
| Elf Trixie | I don’t have a part. I just do whatever Mrs. Claus wants. |
| Elf Trixie | Elf Sugar Cookie – I bet you would be AWESOME in the puppy workshop. |
| Elf Ulan | Oh, that’s right! How’s Trixie going? Where is she now? |
| Elf Max | Do you think this chat idea that Elf Ernest talked about is going to happen? |
| Elf Trixie | Trixie is on the test flight team, so she’s kind of all over the place. I get reports all the time and I hear she is doing really well. I hope to see her in a few weeks. |
| Elf Trixie | Yes the chat thing is going to happen. But only after Santa calls Mrs. C |
| Elf Ulan | I want to join the puppy workshop too! |
| Elf Sugar Cookie | Thank you so much, Elf Trixie!! I don’t have much experience yet but am hoping to gain some ASAP! It would be so exciting to be working with the puppies over at the North Pole knowing that they would be going to great homes and making wishes come true! |

| Elf Sugar Cookie | I would love that!! Elf Ulan, I would love to work with you! |
| Elf Trixie | Oh yes. She gets on her more than I do. In fact, she’ll likely tell me to be more active here |

| Elf Cookie Dough | I would love to work a higher job for Santa and Mrs Claus I re applied for my other job but never got a response back |
| Elf Trixie | Yes, Mrs. Claus is very tech savvy. She’s all over the North Pole websites. She often answers the mail. She just doesn’t tell anyone it’s her. In fact, she’s on this chat right now and nobody knows she is here. Well, except me. |

| Elf Sugar Cookie | Wow! Hi, Mrs. Claus! |
| Elf Max | I better shape up then! |
| Elf Ulan | Wow, Trixie is great! Do you know about Mighty Mick the Elf Big Ted reindeer? I hope there are friends! |
| Elf Trixie | Yes, she’s here. Lots of elves are here you can’t see, Max. |

| Elf Trixie | I did meet him. He’s a great reindeer. |

| Elf Trixie | Not to me, I don’t have that gift like Santa. But he responded to me. He likes to be scratched behind his ears. He’s got big old cute ears. |

| Elf Ulan | Me too, Elf Sugar Cookie! It became one of my areams! |
| Elf Trixie | I do. I grew up on a farm. We had cows and goats. When I went to school to become a reporter I think my Daddy was a little disappointed. |
| Elf Max | He wanted you to run the farm? |
| Elf Trixie | Kind of, I think. I think maybe he didn’t like me becoming a city girl. |
| Elf Max | Do you feel you have become a city girl? |
| Elf Trixie | No way. You can’t take the country out of a girl. |
| Elf Max | folks our time with Trixie is about up. Do you have any last questions for her? |
| Elf Trixie | Already? Wow, that went fast! |
| Elf Max | This has been a surprising chat for me, Trixie. I hope we didn’t get Santa in trouble. |

| Elf Trixie | She said he got himself in to trouble all by himself! |
