Finalists are down to a list of ten candidates for the regional tracking center to be used for Christmas in Sector 5 this year. All of them have very festive names:
Here is the list:
- Christmas Lake, Oregon, USA
- Holly, Ontario, Canada
- Snowball, Ontario, Canada
- Christmas Cove, Maine, USA
- Bethlehem, North Carolina, USA
- Rudolph, Wisconsin, USA
- Noel, Nova Scotia, Canada
- Noel, Missouri, USA
- Mistletoe, Kentucky, USA
- Reindeer Station, Northwest Territories, Canada
The interesting thing about this list is that all of these places are quite small and many do not appear to have large buildings. Sector 5 is the largest of all sectors, at least in terms of the number of believers. It usually has the largest regional tracking center.
Another point of speculation, at least among my team in Sector 5, is that Canada has hosted the regional HQ for four of the last five years. Last year it was in Nova Scotia. Many here believe Canada will be spared a selection this year.
We will see. Frankly, my personal feeling is that it does not really matter where the location will be. We just need to get a final selection and get to work.
Scouts are now out in the field in each of these locations and we should know soon. I’ll keep you posted.
